7 painful nights

last week i did a solid week of pure night shifts ie from 10 pm to 8am

for a while i thought the world just gone crazy

day and night had lost their definition

i was up on my feet all night tending to drunks, psychopaths and one rare occasions...really sick people

if u think Emergency Dept is busy..

try visiting us after midnight

it's a MADHOUSE

people screaming (when they are not actually in pain), people trying to hang themselves, ingesting bucketsload of antidepressant meds or slashing their wrist (u name it, we have a full list of ways to kill yourself) and of course people who lives in a world of their own, whose breath is so full of ethanol u would smell it from metres away

security guards and police officers are common sights (thank God!), because u really are in serious trouble without them arounds

yes, nightshifts are painful

what's worse is having to be apart with my little princess

so hubby sent pictures of her every night (so sweet!)...and i would ogle them during my 40 minute break

Night 1

Night 2

Night 3

Night 4

Night 5

Night 6

Sadly, there's no pictures for night 7 because hubby had gone to work that day (he said it'll be 2 weeks this time, which i doubt very much)

Good new is, i'm now off for 2 weeks

..plenty of time to play with mia-chan and cure this self-imposed insomnia

it's not that hard, i sleep both night and day now-what's that called ?hypersomnia

a date

me?

on a date?

with u?

....

OK

hehe

after 1 year and ++ months of marriage, hubby and i finally went on date together

and the perfect date would be...

carboo-ting!!

carboot is where they sell unwanted household thingies ie desks, kitchen appliances, clothes...

and oh yes! second-handed TOYS!

...at the back of their car..hence the name carboot-people would line up their cars, opened their trunks and ahoy let the transaction begins

and the price would be as low as 50cents! (depends on how good u are at bargaining)

wearing hubby's jumper and my beloved miu miu bag

lots of goodies for mia-chan

antiques and soft toys

a family event

u'll never know what u'll find here-

i once got a set of potteries for 8euros (which is only a fraction of it's original price)..and it's still in good condition-that makes me proud, because now i can say i collect antiques!haha

carbooting is great way to spend Saturday mornings..(why else would i be up at 9am on weekends?)

plus it reminds me of pasar minggu..sob sob sob

another plus is the average spending would be around 10euro, so we can afford to carboot every week (if only i have more weekends to spare)

i wish for a driver to bring me to carboot everyweek!

get together

here's a model demonstrating what i'm like after 11hours of super-busy shift work.

i am currently doing Accident and Emergency, which means no more weekends

uwaaa!!!

there goes my social life

(not that it's that great before anyway)

therefore, in the spirit of making new friends and enjoying the friends i already have, i'm doing a get together tomorrow

(on the only Saturday that i'm off on this month)

and of course, i'll be straight back to work on Sunday :(

...lots of pics to follow

what i miss. .

well i miss a lot..

but when it comes to food, nothing beats this one place

so u say..

what so special about a warung?

here is my top tips on finding the best spot to 'lepak' while enjoying a great meal

1. it has to be CLEAN-most restaurants in Malaysia are rated A, B,C according to their cleanliness, so it shouldn't be that hard. but, among the As, there are the A+s (and that's where this place stands)

2. the MENU-no need for super long and exhaustive menu. Short and simple is always best. So long as the food u serve is 'terbaik', people will always come back for more

3. the LOCATION-i think the owner of Warung Bunut Rendang named it because of where it sits-surrounded by trees, it's the perfect spot to berteduh from Malaysia's super hot climate. it is close to the road,  but strangely u won't be bothered by sounds of cars passing by. fans?air-conditioner? no need for one-just the calming breeze of natural wind is enough

...which is why Warung Bunut Rendang is the most visited restaurant/ food place while i was in Malaysia. too many times that i can't even remember...and as i said, the menu is simple

mi goreng

laici kang

teh-O-beng

but, when u have kids, the word 'lepak' no longer exists...

this is the reason i never can be 'kurus'

i'm back!

it's been A while!

life is super busy..i spend 60% of my 24hours with work, the rest is divided between travelling, sleep and mia-chan

poor mia-chan., i was telling hubby the other day that i feel like a vampire- that is, i only appear to mia-chan after midnight :(

mia-chan would wake up as i open the door( and that depends on the hours i'm doing, sometime as late as 11pm)..and her smile would ease off all the backache and headache mummy had to endure during the day

i'm such a BAD mother!

i need more time with mia-chan! God i need more time for myself!

nowadays i look like an OGRE..well actually i think SHREK looks more attractive than me

i need a holiday so badly it hurts. huhuhu
