Some updates!

OMG I am SUPER bored!
I am still awaiting word from KKM regarding my induction date ie the day I start work in Malaysia. It's taking forever yess!!
Sometimes you do wonder why they say they are lacking in doctors and yet here is one sitting in bed, bored senseless..and itching on get back to the crazy hours and madness in the emergency room.
Ah well..
The latest update in regards to work matters is I received my Surat Tawaran from SPA last week. The content is all that I'd already known except for the part that they expect you to do medical check-ups, jumpa Pesuruh jaya Sumpah ( the one where you have to pay a couple of ringgits to verify your documents- eh betul ke? Huhu) and the etc you do prior to start working basically.
I of course choose to delay these matters until the last minute, err because that's just how I roll. Yehyehh..

Currently I am at MIL's house ( day 2-according to our rotation of my mum's house then hubby's). I am glad to say that I am currently perfecting my skill of 'buat air' for the last couple of days. My expertise..'air tea!'

My FIL recently underwent a hernia operation so the house is very rarely without visitors or concerned relatives. It is indeed a strange thing..when you're at work you only consider hernia ops or cholecystectomy as mehh..everybody had them done nowadays so what? Triple Bypass or colectomy- now that's BIG. Well, that's because we didn't experience it as a patient or as a family member. Any operation means risks, so big or small doesn't matter. Case in point- my FIL..more than a dozen relatives were outside the operating room the day he had his done. You would never see that in Ireland...whether it is due to culture or family values, I'm not sure.

Actually, this is the time where you get to know who your true friends are. Case in point-My FIL..You don't need to be famous to be visited by friends and families, especially when you're sick.
Suffice to say, I get to practice my 'buat air' skills BIG time.

❕But..no mention of any other 'air' ok! I am a specialist in 'air tea' making, but the rest-FAIL!

Doctors get sick too!

A couple of days ago I was hit with a nasty bug. It was so sudden and unexpected that one minute I was joking and laughing and the next, I was lying helplessly in bed.
I vomited all throughout the day and the toilet was my best friend for the day. It got worse the next day as my body tried to fight dehydration and fatigue from having no food for 48 hours.
So I have seen vomiting bug before. It is like smarties in casualty. The treatment is simple enough in most cases, put them up on continous iv fluids until they can start eating again. I of course refused to do this because well, it's just a bug and I thought my body can rectify itself with time( I'm haven't reached 60 so I HAVE to be fine) and no doctor would go to casualty for a simple D&V right?
But this one is the most severe yet for me. At one point, I felt totally helpless and so overwhelmed with fatigue that even breathing became an effort. Such drama for a mere vomiting bug.
😪

When you're 'young', you never thought of getting sick, apart from the usual colds and flu of course. Honestly, I was surprised that I can get that tired and ill.
Well, what it did to me was it reminded me that my health and 'young'life can easily be taken away against my will. Being 'young' will not become an excuse to delay my death or prevent me from getting cancer or etc.

Isn't it amazing how we can easily forget about this?

I have seen kids or people in their 20s lying helpless on the hospital bed, so sick from cancer and such. I remembered thinking to myself, please God don't let that be me one day. I have a small child that needs me and I want to see her grow up, go to college, get married, etc.

Such selfish thinking.

Truth is, it can happen to anyone of us, even doctors. The white coat is not a shield for diseases, it doesn't protect us from illnesses.
Doctors need MC too (although we don't get enough) sometimes, because we're just human being...Allah can give or take our health away anytime He wants.

Angry Bird Penat!

An exhausted Angry Bird in bed.
We spent the evening touring Kota Bharu town because there was nothing to do all day and I was dead bored watching the same drama over and over again on Astro.
And guess what? Looks like we were not the only one with the same idea. At close to midnight, Kota Bharu town was still jam-packed with people.
So it was Friday night but do they all have to be in town? Kopitiams, warungs, McDs are full of hungry strangers. Wakaf Che Yeh was as usual a top hit with non- kelantanese, so we decided to see what the fuss is all about.
No joy.
No parking and I didn't think it was worth juggling a toddler against the crowds.
So we just parked at a nearby kopitiam while enjoying the view of hundreds of people and cars in Wakaf Che Yeh area.
I had Special( because of the corns) Sirap Bandung and Bihun Goreng Singapore, husband got himself a hamlet and MIL had ABC.
Sorry, no pictures of food..was holding mia-chan on my lap because she refused the baby chair.
Mia-chan 'pengsan' in the car lagik, while the rest of us sangat relieved sebab dah solat Isya' sebelum pergi.
Huhu. Penat. Penat tengok orang ramai.

ANgry Birds

It is absolutely undeniable that mia-chan is addicted to Angry Birds..everything has to have Angry Bird picture on it-her tops, her jammies, her nappy bag..EVERYTHING!
This obsession with the hideous-looking birdy character started when she found the game on my Iphone. She started 'playing' with it since 1 and a half years old.
Since then, we couldn't pass any shops selling Angry Birds stuff without stopping. And man, they really work   up that stuff good. From Angry Birds balloons to headbands, those people really knew how to sell.
Kids loved it!...and Parents hated it!

There's no escaping the Angry Birds phenomenon for us parents. It has joined the league of Barbie Princess,
Ben 10, Spiderman and Upin & Ipin (all them had done severe damages to our pockets)
Because I LOVE my kid so much, I have no choice but to embrace this little creature to my livingroom, bedroom, etc. So when I found this website http://www.bbluvsme.com/  that sells Angry Birds jammies, I have to add it to my favourite sites.
It sells cute baby/toddlers clothes at great prices and I have to say that I'm hooked. Will start shopping once hubs give me the green light (nah..will start shopping right away!)
Do check it out, because it is not just about Angry Birds, it's selling GAP, traditional baby kurungs-super CUTE  and plenty of accesories for our little munchkins!

Dem!

It is pictures like this that torment and torture mere mortals like us ladies!
Our dear husbands are lucky they are not subjected to the pressure of looking this perfect and gorgeous.
Immaculate hair with no hint of strays in sight, a dress that clings to your body like a magnet (why wouldn't it, when your body looks like this) and of course, a PRADA to complete it all.

SUPER jealous!!

That's right! The world is indeed unfair! How do expect us to look this gorgeous after 9-month pregnancy and childbirth? No 'pantang' or corsets can get us looking like this.

It is easy to forget the things women go through in marriage. Dealing with children, in-laws, demanding husbands, etc. Sometimes, instead of appreciation what we get is more and more pressure of being perfect. Why can't you be more understanding? More efficient? More 'kurus'?
Our dear Miranda Kerr is quite a lucky one. Her one job is to look like this..ALL THE TIME!
Children?-got nanny what?. In-laws?-what more can you ask, your 'menantu' is a freakin' supermodel!..Orlando?-well, he's a real sweetheart ain't he? Can do no wrong that man.

So the real message of this post is??
Will they appreciate us better if we are MIRANDA?

Luahan seorang penganggur

How do you measure success?
Is it by your job? Your status? Your wealth? Your children?
Is it enough by having a husband and a beautiful child by your side? To have a secure and fascinating career? To be blessed with wonderful health and spirit?
I don't think you can measure success that way. To compare me with someone else's achievement is plain WRONG.
Each and everyone of us is different. I have to admit, I'm not easily contented with life. One minute I'm happy and a few seconds later, I can be really sour. Sometimes I feel things could've been better or I am not achieving enough.
I have figured out why. It is because I have sheltered myself from the sufferings and turmoils of other people's life. It is everyday's news-loved ones lost in accidents@ fire, children taken away from their parents, misfortunes and the list goes on.
I Am thinking and acting selflessly because I fail to see beyond myself.
I have to re-program my brain and see the world in a different view.
So, today despite being out of job and money, I am thankful because I could've been in a way worse state than I am now.

Holiday!!

Akhirnya, dapat jugak ke sini. Sangat2 needing a break rasanya. Sapa kata tak berkerja tak stress?

It's veeery stressful!
Walaupun badan sihat ( gemuk dan montel) tapi mental kurang cerdas dan rasa macam sangat lembap. My world happens to revolve around mia-chan, tv and food. I dont think I'm the only one annoyed with my self...people around me are starting to act different..seolah-olah berkata-kamu ni makan berak cangkung jer, tak der benda nak buat ke? Conquer remote tv, makan banyak, meluat den nengok.

Arghh..sungguh stress. Rasa nak lari balik Ireland jer kekadang

Wink :)

Daddy dan mia juga sangat happy. Ok daddy maybe not so much sebab kad kredit hampir rabak di baham Grand Lexis.

Mia like!! We were too tired to go out and have dinner, so order room service for dear mia-chan. Spagetti bolognaise jer, tapi happy bila tengok si kecik berselera makan.

I love the toilet! This is how mine will look like in the future. There's space for posing2 depan cermin dan solek2, separate spaces for toilet bowl and shower...and the shower, OMG don't get me started on the shower. HUGE shower head, with perfectly working hot water. Rasa nak mandi sepanjang masa kat sini.

The private pool was OK la. Mia LOVED it so that's all that counts.

View from the toilet. There's a sliding door that leads straight through to the pool.

Ada microwave and tea/coffee making utilities. Siap ada sink kecik kat tepi.

90% of the time we were in the pool-so rasa berbaloi la jugak duk sini. This is a great vacation for my muslim girls who wants to swim and play in the pool, tapi suasana around the hotel was lifeless..hanya rumah orang dan kedai2 kecik. We did go to Giant in Larut town right after checking-in to stock on snacks and bread, sebab dah plan awal2 malas nak keluar makan.

Breakfast was also average. Kebetulan time tu, there's a group of tourist from China (i'm guessing) having breakfast at the same time so it was a bit hectic. I didn't get to sample many foods though sebab badan still recovering from flu & diarrhoea itu hari. Huhu.

Good times flies so quickly. Here's mia-chan waiting for our buggy to check-out.

Grand Lexis

If there is one thing I'm good at, it would be spending off money. That is why dear husband always pesan letak sikit jer duit dalam wallet because they would be gone in no time. In those Dublin times, dengan kewujudan direct debit and credit card, lagi parah lah my habit ni.

Being jobless made me more careful and timid in going to malls and places. I miss having a fixed income and what's more, bonuses from the extra calls that I forced myself to do every month. You have to work hard to reap the benefits right? Hard to imagine how I'd became so lazy and unconditioned in the last 6 months. I wouldn't recommend it to anybody...besides gaining extra fat here and everywhere,
the sense of boredom is unbearable.

Husband was just back from his month-old away job, so I of course have to find ways to spend money and at the same time, get rid of this boring-ness. I thought of going away somewhere out of country, but with no word from SPA and KKM about the upcoming job, I decided holiday at home it is.

After reading blog2 orang2 yang tak dikenali, I stumbled upon this...

GRAND LEXIS PORT DICKSON

Lepas tu ada choices of Garden and Water Villas.

Dah cerita banyak2 ni, sebenarnya kome tak pergi lagi. Hahaha

These pictures are from their website jer. Undecided lagi whether nak pergi ke tidak. Biasalah, kita yang merancang Tuhan menentukan. Sapa2 yang nak pergi tu bolehlah..nanti bagitau best ke tak OK?
